The novel centers on an agoraphobic teen who falls in love with the cute boy next door.
Louise Gornall’s YA Novel Under Rose-Tainted Skies has been optioned by Stephen Garrett and Character Seven.
The book, Gornall’s debut novel, centers on Norah, a seventeen-year-old girl battling severe agoraphobia and OCD. Her life changes when the cute and charming Luke moves in next door and they hit it off, but her illness stymies any romance. Published in January by Clarion, the novel has won praise for its depiction of Norah’s illness and the banter between Norah and Luke.
Character Seven was founded by British TV and film executive Stephen Garrett (The Night Manager, Life on Mars) in 2016. It is currently developing another John Le Carre adaptation, The Spy Who Came in the From the Cold, for airing in 2018.
Gornall is represented by New Lew Literary & Media and Mandy Hubbard of Emerald City Literary.
