The reality series, which wrapped its ten-season run in 2013, will return with 10 new episodes.
WE tv is ready to walk down the aisle again.
The AMC-owned cable network is set to revive the long-running unscripted series Bridezillas, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Ten new episodes will debut in 2018. Casting is currently under way.
Premiering in 2004, Bridezillas followed two “hilariously unhinged brides” — WE’s words not our’s — as they tried to pull off the perfect wedding in each hour-long episode. The unscripted series quickly became on of WE tv’s signature originals and ultimately ran for 10 seasons and 185 episodes before saying farewell in 2013.
Bridezillas also spawned a spinoff, Marriage Boot Camp, which just wrapped its eighth season on the cabler.
“From the beginning, Bridezillas was nothing short of pop culture phenomenon and a brand-defining show for WE tv. Years after saying goodbye to our last Bridezilla, we have been asked consistently to bring this show back by viewers and fans,” said WE tv president Marc Juris.“With its built-in fanbase and continued cultural relevance, the Bridezillas franchiseis a strategic growth asset that we can leverage across our business and we are thrilled to be bringing it back to WE tv.”
Laura Halperin, exec produces with Lauren P. Gellert, Kate Farrell and Angela Molloy for WE tv.
Bridezillas is the latest reality series to get the reboot treatment. MTV recently brought back Fear Factor with new host Ludacris, and ABC is famously getting ready to revive American Idol, which will join its extensive slate of unscripted revivals including game shows Match Game, Celebrity Family Feud, $100,000 Pyramid and most recently Battle of the Network Stars.
